RULES and REGULATIONS for General Purpose

All users must adhere to all the Rules and Regulations, and any given User-Instructions for the Use of SIT Computing Resources and Training Facilities.

Users are liable for disciplinary action if they done any of the following :-

  • Importing of computer viruses into the PCs purposely
  • Using and/or loading unauthorized software
  • Changing the network configuration of the desktops in the Lab
  • Gross wastage of expendable materials

Strictly no copying and installing of any software in the Labs. The School is bound by the Copyrights Act and users must not abuse their privileged use of the Labs by installing illegal / unauthorized software.

No student is allowed to bring any friends or relatives into the Labs during their free access use, or to use the computing facilities for commercial purposes.

Equipment, documentation, room’s furniture or fixtures must NOT be re-arranged or removed from any SIT’s facilities without specific instruction from a SIT staff.

All malfunctioning/missing equipment or room-fittings MUST be reported to Help Desk IMMEDIATELY. If u have noticed some PC has problem or you are having Email problem, do access the error-log to e-log those problem.

No student is allowed to play computer games in any computer labs. Student evaluation computer games as part of their coursework will have to display their admission card next to the PC for checking purpose.

No Food and Drinks (except plain water in bottle with proper cap) are allowed in any computer labs.

No student is allowed to modify the system setup of the PCs in all SIT computing facilities.

Internet and E-mail services provided to all students are strictly for academic purposes. Disciplinary actions will be taken against those students who are found to have abuse the use of these services provided.

All students have to perform regular house keeping of the e-mail mail box. Login account will be disabled when the students' mail box is found to be full.
